EXHIBITION TITANIC

110 years ago (15 April 1912) the legendary "floating castle" Titanic sank.

A symbol of the greatness of the industrial revolution, it was thought to be unsinkable, but it sank on its first voyage - after hitting an iceberg.

Her iconic figure and shocking fate make her timeless, but she is also a great example of human hubris and arrogance. We can see the values and world at that time, as well as how people of the era were thinking. From the gigantic building projects to the rescue operations, how much they cared about appearances and how little they cared about safety.

This is exemplified, among other things, by the way the tragedy unfolded, with the loss of life, as little more than half (53%) of the passengers were able to escape after the disaster. Even here, the visitor is confronted with the surrealistic concept of the evacuation of the travellers.

The Titanic's charm has not diminished since. The most famous steamship of all time is the 'star' of countless books, films, and other works. Over time, the story of the tragedy of the ocean liner and the iceberg has built up a veritable business to satisfy researchers and fans alike.

Since the legendary ocean liner was buried in the ocean, it has become the basis for countless archaeological sources. In this exhibition, you can see a wealth of research findings and archaeological artefacts (e.g., passenger utensils, accessories, etc.) in a contemporary setting.
